Hi,

My partner and I have recently applied using the Simplified Application Process for Skilled workers for Canada.

I've been considering hiring an Immigration Solicitor to help me with the overall process as I'm worried incase we miss something and then have to start the whole process again. I'm wondering, would anyone know if its better for us to hire a Canadian Solicitor to look after this process for us or a Solicitor in Ireland? I've found one solicitor in Ireland but am yet to do a bit more research on them with how much of this type of work they've actually done. Just wondering if anyone would have any info on this?

I have checked the Canadian Immigration site but it really doesn't give a whole lot of info and their search engine will only let you check solicitors in Canada to ensure they are actually qualified to carry out this process.

Thanks

Ducky

I live in Canada. Went through the process without a lawyer.

Hiring a lawyer will not get you in any faster from what I understand.
you can read all about it here.

When I came, (from Ireland) many years ago, my application was based
on a point system. So many points for education/skills/and whether there
was/is openings for the type of work you both do.
Medical/Police backgound checks are required.

If you have any questions, I may have some of the answers
