Im 70, wife is 60, pension 36k, savings 100k. Medical Card?

Will be 70 next June wife 60 both retired ,pension,s 36,000 , 100,000 in the bank,would we get a medical card.

Looks like you would be eligible.

You are allowed to have income of up to E73,000.00. p.a.

The first 73,000 of your savings will be disregarded, so only 27,000 will be assessed as income.

As your current income is 36,000 and you have a gap of 37,000 between that and the allowable income your savings should not cause a problem
