Hi,
I have been on the Ikea site but I can not find what the opening times are for the opening day of Ikea on the 27th?

Does anyone know?

Tnx.

It is opening at 11.00 according to the girl on the Marian Finnucan show this morning. It is 11am due to the conditions of Fingal Co.Co & to avoid traffic conjestions

I managed to track down a phone number for them (also not on the website!) and rang. The opening hours are 11am to 9pm on weekdays, to 8pm on Saturdays and to 7pm on Sundays.

The website is similarly vague about buses, it only gives the buses that go to Ballymun, not particularly to Ikea. I emailed Dublin Bus (because the information is not on their website either) and they said the 13 and 13A stop outside Ikea, and when the road is finished then the 140 will as well (but it currently doesn't).

Have to say, the Ikea Dublin website isn't exactly inspiring confidence - surely this kind of information should be easily available.

Thats all for the details.....Have been talked into driving my mother out and dont want to get out there too early!

cheers!

article in irish independent on wednesday about charges for parking at ikea. flat charge of €3 and may increase to €10 to deter people for going between 4-8pm.
that definately wouldnt encourage me to travel for a look around.

It will be open on Tuesday and Wednesday as well and pretty much every day after that too. Why would anyone want to spend the morning stuck in traffic and then stuck in the car park for the opening? Am I missing something?

Sorry, ranting again. It's only mass-produced flat-pack furniture and tinned food. I just don't get it.

Parking lot will open at 8 am, though. Traffic management plan, I believe.
Just heard that the car park will open at 7 am on Monday...
That all sounds very well thought out. I fore-see chaos as the rush-hour traffic madness is exacerbated by the "flat-pack fans" rushing to take up spaces in the car-park 4 hours before the place opens. Then at 11 am the next wave of flat-packers will arrive to an already over-flowing car-park.
