made redundant no redundancy payment as only 16months in that job.

I have registered with social welfare and have appt to come back in 10 days to discuss claim.

I was working 20 hrs per week in relevant tax yr for claim ie: 2006 and 2005. Can anyone advise if this will make up 26 prsi contributions per yr to qualify for jobseekers allowance? I dont know how to calc the contributions for part time working?

Thanks

Re: Advice on prsi contibutions to qualify for jobseekers ben

If you were working 20 hours per week (every week) in 2006 you should have 52 PRSI contributions made. Only 39 contributions are required for Jobseekers Benefit and 2005 is therefore irrelevant.

Thanks - that is a relief, I thought that part time might count for less than if I was working a standard week.

anything over 38 euro a week is considered a full PRSI stamp irrespective of the amount of hours worked according to SW
