Looking at buying a 4x4 Hyundai Santa Fe
Any contributors own one of these veichles?
How do they hold their value ref trade in?
Any reliability or other issues?

Thanks

According to these the model is being replaced in 2007 and the residual value after three years is 33% .
Personally prefer the shape of the new Tuscon.

Don't do it. The are relatively cheap, and with reason.

What's your expected off road mileage? I assume it's the diesel you are looking at?

Wife has one,, great jeep I had a freelander( rubbish).

We have it three years diesal version no problem and a good
trade in value.
Upgrading it to a 7 seater version in new year.
I also have four commercial models no problems what
so ever.

Bought a Santa Fe in 2001, 2003 and again in 2005. I love them. I got a diesel version this time though and it is a lot more economical. Plenty of space and nice and solid on the road. They are very good value for money compared to others. The 05 version has leather and climate control as standard. Trade in wise I paid 12k to go from the 03 petrol to the 05 diesel can't remember the 03 so I thinks its a pretty good trade in.

Few people will admit they've bought an average vehicle, but:

Assets
Styling, price, equipment levels, overall refinement.

Drawbacks
Four-cylinder engine's low-rev lethargy, on the limit handling..

Verdict
Surprisingly good - not quite a match for the Freelander or Honda CR-V, but still worth a look.

Parkers think more highly of it however.......
