Well you couldn't outsource some of the main functions.Does anyone know what the legalities are, to outsource the whole HR department to Eastern Europe, without having any HR person in Ireland itself.
I couldn't find anything saying it is allowed or forbidden.
I don't have a problem with the outsourcing in general, but I know from other functions that were outsourced to Eastern Europe that not everything went too smooth (documents getting lost in the mail, processes taking ages, etc.). There is also the tendency for our organisation (we are part of an organisation that is based in the UK) to forget that Ireland hasn't been part of the UK for a while now and has different laws, and tries to implement procedures that would be illegal under Irish law. There is also the question about confidential documents that need to stay in Ireland (we had a problem in the past, where the company wanted us to send sick notes to the UK, but we were told that that would be illegal and the sick notes needed to stay in Ireland) and who would has access to them with no HR person in Ireland.Whats the issue exactly? Is it the outsourcing or the Eastern Europe bit?
by telephone* Interviewing new recruits
by telephone* Performing evaluations
Time keepin is anyhow controlled from the UK and besides my Project manager no one really cares if I'm in the office or not* Monitoring time keeping and attendance
What's that? My company hasn't done anything like that in ages.* Team building and maintaining staff morale
and who would has access to them with no HR person in Ireland.
