HP Printer

Does anyone recommend a HP printer for printing photos that can also be used as a general copier?

I use a C4180 all-in-1 and find it brilliant but heavy on the old ink, as are alternatives in this price range from most manufacturers. I paid 69 euro for the C4180 on a promo from Apple last year and I've spent more than that on ink since!

After a month or so experiementing/fiddling/getting frustrated with my new photo printer a few years back, I vowed not to use it again - you don't really get the same quality as a shop. Go to somewhere to print them off - easier & cheaper ! They consumer ink at an alarming rate. The only thing I print is the "baby" photos the teachers seem to look for every year - just print out in normal quality

I recently got a decent HP printer 1020 in Argos for 60 euro. Super printer

But that's a mono laser printer, which doesn't seem to fit OP's need as expressed here:
