How to pay rental tax

I have rented out my apartment in June 2012 and have to pay tax and file return for 2012 this year. Also I have to pay preliminary tax for 2013.

How do I pay this, I tried registering with ROS but do I need to register for income tax first?

if anyone has a step by step guide here that would be great as I really don't want to waser money paying an accountant or other to file my return for me and as you can gather i am a total novice. Thanks

You fill in a form 12 by October this year with only your rental figures on it. If you have preliminary tax to pay for other issues then keep that separate. Sounds to me like you need an accountant for the first year though as chances are he will save you money by making sure it's correct.
Have you read this thread ? Specifically the fourth post down by YT show an example of how you should get your figures.

You cannot complete a Form 12 for rental income and Form 11 for other income.

I think I understand what the deductions are etc, it is more the process of how to file, when and where. Can i complete these forms on ROS? However when I try and register on ROS it is not very clear
