Apologies if I am in the wrong place, wasn't quite sure which forum I should in in.
I have a house, my name is not on the deeds (it was my grandmother's house and so my father is the legal owner). I live in the house on my own.
I would like to return to education and although I can almost afford it, I would like to rent out two of the free rooms. Problem is I have no idea how to go about this.
Is there a checklist of what needs to be done? Get a BER? Register with PRTB? How much does that cost?
If my father's wages are going to be taken on board for tax purposes then 40%+ of it is going to go on that and I won't have very much left. Is there any way I could become the main tenant and then sublet to people? And then my small salary would be what would be used for tax purposes?
