How to find out about commonage ownership?

We bought some property over a year ago and were just told by a local that the land comes with some commonage. We were not previously told about this.
He seemed to think that it should be associated with the folio number of the land but we received the Folio and File Plan and there is no mention of this.

Should we be looking elsewhere?

Normally it would show on your folio. You could identify the commonage land, if it is land registry, look at a copy of the folio of that land and see who are the owners.

If it is registry of deeds, then it becomes much more difficult, you would need your solicitor to check really and it is not easy.
