How to do Immersion Check

In house for 4 years and always thought that we had 'Sink' only type Immersion Unit fitted because only the sink unit has been active. Is there a switch within the control box protruding on top of the tank that brings the 'Bath' element into use when the bath switch is activated ?
If I need Sparky I will get him but I ain'ty paying a hefty callout fee just to move a switch from A to B.

The switch will be external to the element itself, normally a double switch with on/off sink/bath switches.

If there is indeed a double element installed in your tank wired up to just an on/off switch, then it's a matter of replacing the switch and wiring to the element. Best done by an electrician if you're not 100% sure what you're doing.

Easiest way to check if it's a douple element is (with the power isolated!), remove the cover and see if there are four terminals.

what Leo says is correct. When you have isolated power and have the cover off. you may see four cables, Earth, yellow/green neutral- blue, sink live - brown, bath live - black. The brown and balck are connected to the elements. If you only see three cables minus the black but you can see an empty terminal similar to the brown, then it is a matter of running the correct cable back to the switch and you may have to change switch to double type.

Tks to DavyJ & Leo.
Tks guys for very straight forward advice.
I'll explore tomorrow on foot of this advice.
