How to declare rent a room

I rent out a room in our house. It's not subject to tax but I have to declare it. I'm wondering how to do that.

If I log onto Revenue there doesn't seem to be an option for rent a room.
So I logged onto ROS and was going to do a Form 11. When I choose to submit a Form 11 the last year showing for me is 2016 (as I ran my own business up until then). Now I'm PAYE only.

I think I need to register for Income Tax. I can see that as an option in the ROS area. Does that sound right? I'm guessing if I register for that I'll get an option to enter the Form 11. I just wanted to check as I don't want to go down a rabbit hole that causes me issues.

According to Citizens Information:

You can complete and submit your tax return form online using:
Alternatively, you can complete a hard-copy annual tax return. You record your rental income for rent-a-room relief in the ‘Exempt income’ section of your tax return form and return the completed form to your local tax office.

The tax office can answer any queries you may have and will help if you have any difficulties completing the form.

You don't need to register for income tax to declare rent a room, you can add it on a Form 12 in myaccount. It's confusingly in the tax credits section of the form.
