Haven't had my boiler serviced for about 3 years, so I think I need one done. Anyone know how much this would cost. I used a local guy last time and he charged about €250 but now can't afford that much so I was wondering if this is the going rate or was it excessive cos of the boom times. Also I live in the Lucan area so if anyone can recommend someone that would be great.

I paid about 90 for a service, about 18 months ago. I use a guy called Shay Kilduff, who uses the business name Boiler Bond. His number is 4946102.
He is based in D16, so might cover Lucan.

yeah 80-90 euro is about right, 90 would expect new nozzle is included and a flue gas sample to be read.

250 euro? was there a lot of parts to be changed too?

No new parts or anything else, €250 was just to service fee. God I really paid over the odds.

Just to make sure that we are talking about a boiler for oil and not gas as I know a service for gas boiler was always cheaper.

Yes I am talking about oil, I am an Oftec registered oil technician
(also rgii gas registered)
