How much per head for catering?

I'm looking to put on a party for my mother's 70th birthday and I reckon that hiring a catering firm will save my sanity. The trouble is that I've no idea of what is a decent amount to allow per person.

There will probably be 25-35 people of all ages (no kids though) and I think a choice of main course and a dessert will keep everybody happy but like I said, I haven't a clue and I'm open to all suggestions.

Hey, it really all depends on what food you want to order.

The Butlers Pantry has amazing food - http://www.thebutlerspantry.ie/ its a little on the expensive side, but i have used them several times and the food has always been amazing.

You can keep the costs down by ordering a dinner, like chicken supreme and rice and then get some really nice deserts.

Superquinn also do platters of cold meets and salads and cheeses if you wanted to go down that route

Let me know if you need anymore help

Cheers
