As the title states, how much does it cost to go bankrupt?
I don't mean legal fees to a solicitor. I mean what is the basic cost that must be paid to a court/assignee?

I've seen conflicting figures online hence the query.

The basic costs are as follows:

  • Costs to Official Assignee €200
  • Advert in Iris Oifiguil €75
You can go to Irish Mortgage Holders Organisation who would just charge you the above costs if you have no money.

Alternatively, you can go to a PIP or a solicitor to help with the process. Fees in the private sector can vary wildly across the country. (We charge €3,965 including VAT and expenses.)
