how long is the wait for disability benefit?

as the title asks how long is the waiting time for disability allowence. i applied in march as got an anknowledgement letter in early april but havnt heard anything since.
 
Do you mean Disability Allowance or Disability Benefit?

There can be a delay of several months in Disability Allowance claims.

Illness Benefit (formerly Disability Benefit) is usually processed quickly once the medical certs are sent in and the PRSI contributions are met.

Disability Allownace is measn-tested and probably involves an inspector calling out to your home. The same inspectors do Jobseeker's tests for emans and they are extremely busy keeping up with these.This may be the reason for the delay in yourn claim. Try ringing them in Longford and asking when can you expect a decision?
