How long indemnity take? (lost share certs)

Hi quick question relating to inheritance, grandad died, lost share certs, now the solicitor must apply for an indemnity - how long is that process likely to take? On average? (this is the last bit to be sorted out before dividing the money)...

Should only take a matter of weeks at most as long as the relevant documentation is in order.
