How does one register a tenancy when tenant is a corporate body?

I wonder has anyone any advice on this particular situation?

I have an apartment which is on a long term letting to a corporate - when completing the PRTB1 Form it asks for the tenants PPS number - obviously there isn't one in this instance so does anyone know what the correct procedure is - is the number left blank or is some other number supplied?

I can find no help for this particular issue on the revenue or prtb website.

Just to be clear - this is not a management company but a seperate company with which I have a signed tenancy agreement.

Surely this is simply a commercial lease? It is a residential property but not a residential tenancy IMO.

you use the companys vat reg no instead.

I had thought it might be something like that - do you use the companies VAT number or the companies CRO number?

Is that referenced anywhere or have you done it yourself?

Would the PRTB defend this company if you broke the law regarding residential tenancies (for example seek an injunction on their behalf) or would the company have to go to court against you? If the PRTB is also defending corporate tenants against landlords it's yet another joke wrt this organisation!

And this answers my query how?

I thought your query was answered above in post #3. It's just a general query about the PRTB and their remit efm...no need to get your knickers in a twist.

@efm I just checked The Private Residential Tenancies Board web-site, and while the information there is not explicit, I was unable to find any reference to rentals or tenancies between landlords and corporate entities.

All tenant identifications and references to tenant registration make explicit reference to some or all of the following documents :

• Social Services Card
• Drugs Payment Card
• P60
• P45
• Tax Assessment
• PAYE Notice of Tax Credits
• Temporary Payment Card

So am I right in thinking that registration of a corporate tenant is outside of their remit?

BTW if their service is as good as their web-site it must be pretty awful.

Don't mind me....I just have a bee in my bonnet about off topic posts and rants and the equal and fair application of the moderation rules on this site:eek:.

mathepac - that's my problem - I don't know how these kind of leases / tenancies should be treated: the revenue website says that the requirement for registration does not apply to Business Premises but the Act itself refers to business lettings - I was hoping that some other AAMers had been through this to give me some pointers. BTW I agree with your comments re the PRTB website - our tax money hard at work!
