How do I check my stamps for state pension

hi all,

I was wondering how I check what I will qualify when i retire, I am currently 56,
And was self employed a no of years ago for 9 years between 1994-2001 but prior and since I have paid full paye at all times.

I heard that possibly because I was self employed, I may have not paid full paye and may only get a percentage of the pension. Can somebody advise how I can check this out and what is the criteria for full pension. Many thanks
