Hi,
I want to remove about 10 very old metal (iron, I think) security bars from the outside of a window and attach an Eircom Homewatch alarm sensor to the inside instead. I need to take out the individual bars, because the bottom part of the frame (rail) is helping to support some very old railings. (Sounds ugly I know, but it's not actually!) Does anyone know if there is an easy way to remove individual bars that are less than an inch thick? When I looked online, there was a suggestion that bolt cutters might work. Or am I talking about hiring an expensive and dangerous tool of some kind?
Any advice greatly appreciated.
