House snagging

I am buying a new house, and selling my old house. The completion date of my new house has dragged and now the buyers solicitor has issued a notice to complete which gives me 28 days to move out of my exitsting house.

I have been given a date for snagging, and it is a week from the date when i have to move out, can anyone tell me if it is possible to snag a house and complete contracts in a week ?

It depends on how you get to do the snag, for my more recent move my brother in law snagged for me, it was a tiny list and the few issues were fixed in two days, at which point I completed contracts and got in within a week. But if you have a large snag and want 80-90% of it completed then it may take longer, if you snagger needs to revisit to check the work it may take even longer again. Dont tell the builder this as he will know you are over a barrel and may not address any minor issues.
