I was looking through AAM for any tips on this and the key post hasn't been updated since 2008.
So here is my experience this week.
I just renewed the insurance on a buy to let
building sum insured €145,000
made up from the institute of chartered surveyors website as follows
1023 sq ft at €127 per sq ft = €130,000
detached shed €15,000
No contents insurance
Landlords liability Ins €3m
Excess €250 with higher for frozen food and heave (?)
Total cost €286
My renewal quote was higher, I got 10% reduction just for asking.
That is a cost of €1.97 per thousand buildings sum with landlords liability without contents.
Seems very reasonable to me.
What are other people paying.
