House Insurance: New Roof Leaking, Builder ceased trading

Hello

Can anyone advise me please.

We had a small extension in late 2010 - room added to back of house downstairs. Last year, the roof leaked. Contacted builder who came out, checked it, seemed to fix it. The leak has returned quite badly. contacted builder.... but he has gone out of business. Would we be able to have this covered by home insurance? Trying to gather advice before I contact them.

How did it leak? Your policy covers you for specified perils (risks). Defective workmanship is not covered, if it is defective workmanship.

If its not defective workmanship I suggest consulting a loss assessor to prepare claim for submission to your insurance co.
