Hotel near Brussels Midi train station

Can anyone recommend a hotel which is very near (short walking distance with kids and bags) Brussels Midi train station ? We might be flying in to Brussels and getting a train out the next day, so it just has to be functional rather than necessary luxurious.

Be careful in that area - it's not the safest. Don't go wandering around looking like a tourist or you'll be fair game !!
 
The novotel hotel is very near the gare central rail station which is on the rail line in from the airport. Out the main door across the street and tunr right. Got a good deal on it a few weeks ago. beside the grand place.
