I did accounts in the hotel industry.
You could try to get into it by doing accounts. At least you would have regular hours and no weekend work. The pay is not great but the experience is very good, particularly if you like dealing with people and want to move into hotel management.
The bar and reception work have unsocial hours and low pay. If you don't mind shifts 7 to 3 and 3 to 11pm you could go into reception, and progress to Front Office Manager.
I would advise you to try to get reception/accounts in a hotel, and see if you like it. Then, at least if you don't like it, the reception/accounts experience would be useful in getting an office job in another company. If you do like it, try to get to be duty manager. A lot of people like this work, as it is very varied.
