Some queries on Home bond

- Is it necessary to get a survey done on a house that is covered under a homebond guarantee? eg a 5 yr old house?

- If a house is being sold with homebond guarantee...how can that be validated? and with who?...rather than taking the EA's word for it?

Not necessary but definitely recommended. Don't depend on Homebond for anything other than cover for serious structural defects. Even then, in my experience, don't depend on Homebond at all!

Your solicitor should be checking for the Homebond (HB1?) form in the legal documentation related to the property.

Sorry - looks like it's a HB11 form judging by [broken link removed]. Lucky I wasn't depending on the Homebond website for such info! Mention it to your solicitor to make sure that s/he keeps an eye out for it.
