Home insurance claim & bank lender

I had a leak in my home (Cork) and made a claim with Zurich home insurance. I currently have a mortgage and home insurance joint with my partner.

Home insurance claim was approved, and because we don't have a joint bank account we had to send a separate document signing that we are ok for funds to be sent to my bank account.

Now we received a cheque in my name + lender. I understand it is because lender is an interested party as we still have a mortgage but no one told me what to do now? Has anyone gone through this process before?

While waiting for the home insurance payout we had the work done out of pocket and have an invoice to show. Please help if anyone was in the similar situation.

You need to contact your lender to get payment sorted.

Thank you for the reply. My partner is at her parents abroad now, will lender require both of our signatures to endorse the cheque if home insurance already approved the cheque to be issued in my name + lender so that we can access the funds? We are both on the mortgage.

Not sure but since you need to contact your lender about this anyway why not just do that and ask them?

Just an update here if anyone comes up reading this thread - the mortgage lender told me to email them the reason for claim and claim amount and they will send a letter to our address to forward it to home insurance.
