I agrea with RMFC, Skys the limit you can spend up to 20k on a set of speakers alone if you so wish, But thats the far extreme.
LCD V PLASMA
Plasma:
Contrast: Plasmas generally produce better black levels, response time plasmas suffer far less from smearing over the montion caused by Lcd technologys realatively slow response to changing picture information and also plasmas enjoy a slightly wider viewing angel then LCD's.
LCD:
Lcds are virtually immune from screen burn,on screen colour blends are free from what we call the rainbow affect, which older plasmas suffered from,Lcds use less power even though there pictures tend to be brighter and can double as Computer Monitor with their ability to display very sharp images, also viewing angels have improved so I think its something like a 170 dergres now
Also most models of Lcds or Plasmas are full HD now so dont buy a "HD READY" buy a "FULL HD" this will future proof your TV.
Samsung have a good line up of LCDS, I recomend something like the Samsung LE46M87BDX just give that a google should bring it up, its a 46" screen has 3 X HDMI imputs and is full HD, Have one myself and cant fault it and to compleat your home cinema I go for Sonys home cinema system the DAV IS-10, its a dvd player which also upscales the dvds so you will get the best out of your HD TV when watching dvds on it and has Golf ball size aluminium satelite speakers so be perfect to stick on the wall. I'm not to sure of the watt of that sony but they usally pack a punch.
Samsung LE46M87BDX and the Sony DAV IS-10 5.1 home cinema system is what I recomend for you.
