Home carer tax credit till child 12 years ?

I have one child who is just gone 13. We get the homecarer tax credit. Do I need to cancel it with revenue ? I have read somewhere it's only till child is twelve but then I've also read you can get it for a max of 20 years.

You're mixing up home carers credit with the PPS credits - homemakers scheme.

Homecarers tax credit.
You need to contact revenue if your youngest child is over 12

Homemakers credits/PRSI credits
You can get the homemakers years disregarded if you are caring for children under 12 in the home.
If you have other who are now under 12 you can continue you can getting homemakers years disregarded until the youngest is 12.
Maximum years disregarded is 20
