Could anyone recommend me a good history book and science book for say 8 to 12 year olds.
To answer questions like, why they speak English in the USA, why American Indians are called Indians, why did Christopher Columbas (from Italy) result in Spain owning the USA. What is a colony.
Whether the chicken or the egg came first. etc.
Book on Irish history (that is not too biased to one side of the story or the other) and a different one on say European history. Or a weblink to where there is a discussion on books like this for kids.
