Help with plumber who has bullish work methods?

Read most of this thread with an open mouth.
What else can the plumber do he has a job to do and can't do certain tasks without getting access to where the pipes and stuff have to go.
This cock-up sounds to me like your project manager messed up not your plumber.
This will be an "on-going issue" on other sites "in the current climate", "going forward".
Right, I have just read this too open mouthed, I suppose after that crossfire I have to bow my head and say I am the crappy project manager along with my husband, who should have know better. Protocol of order of things to do on self build, haven't a clue, like most, I learn along the way, one being this forum because a project manager was on our wishlist but alas we couldn't afford one, like most, I am sure and struggle on through it.
But our build is finished, almost, we did it ourselves and everybody says it is a beautiful house, it is just, as someone rightly put it, we have a small bully, who didn't confer with us, prior to what looked like to us, unnecessisarily busting through our plastered/painted bedroom wall, to get to the bathroom suite??? The tiler, I may bow my head and say with a bit of cop on, on my behalf I should have figured that would be an issue but I thought the tiles would be fine behind the shower tray. I suppose presumption was my enemy in this case, that the tiler and plumber would know what they were doing, they are the experts, and that if a problem arised, I would be called. I will charge him for the hole in the wall but the tiles, I won't. I am waiting for the invoice which will more than likely include extra charge after extra charge, well he can run and jump, I am most definitely not in the mood!!

i just read the first few post on this but for goodness sake who tiles a bathroom before the shower tray etc goes in. whoever made this decision is at fault. either you or the project manager.
very few tradesmen will ring the other one before they start etc. its up to the project manager to say ok plumber comes in now and then tiler etc.

Abbica....I feel for you. I had a similar plumber years ago & it is a nightmare to have a tradeperson in the house that you don't feel is doing his best for you.
Let me first point, out as everyone is insisting you never tile first - sometimes you have to tile behind the shower before you put in the shower. Our make called for this & was clearly stated on the instructions (which he never read). He also changed the WHOLE lay out of the bathroom as he didn't think our way would work - I was downstairs at the time & he never bothered to say anything....& our way worked just fine, after we made him change it all back.
Our guy was a bully, did way more damage than necessary, told us 3 times everything was ready to go (shower was being held to the wall with abit of silicone, hot & cold taps mixed up, bath not in properly!!), was very pass remarkable about us (made several personal comments). Eventually we fired him as I didn't want him back in the house. He was amazed & couldn;t understand why.
The plumber who came to clear up his mess was shocked at what he found (even more shocked that we had paid the first guy anything!!). He sorted it all out for less money than the first guy & we still use him and we have happily referred him on to others.

As a Tiler myself I can tell you that it's actually the Tiler at fault here. While the plumber is a bit of a bull it must have had to be done for him to make things work. That said it's guys like this that give the rest of us a bad name,and both these guys should have consulted with you before anything was done.
It looks to me like they were out for a quick buck and don't care about the consequences. If something goes wrong I've no doubt that you will have trouble getting them back.
