We are considering buying an old house (70 years old) which currently has an Oil back boiler (seems new enough - but takes up a lot of space in the kitchen. I have seen the boiler working - all rads were hot. The house would need dry lining and new windows but we are trying to figure out the level of work requried for the heating system. How easy and what costs are associated with converting a 4 bed detached 2000 sq ft house to Gas? Is it worth converting to Gas? Any help greatly appreciated as costs to refurbuish the hosue will be deciding factor on whether to make a purchase, and in the current climate we want to be sure that we can afford the work!
