Help needed

Im just after been told that my office is been relocated to another part of dublin that means it will take me longer to get to and from work. Im living with my partner and therefore cvant move location. what are my options as i really dont want to move.

Im sorry to say that I dont think you have many options.

Is your company unionised? Are you in a position to negotiate a sum of money to (part) compensate you for the move? Are you in a strong personal position with respect to your company i.e. do they need you more than you need them? Can you enter into a car pooling arrangement. At the very least you might be able to get the company to pay for an annual public transport ticket - this is not taxable (I think). Would the company be agreeable to be more flexible with regard to starting and finishing times?

Teleworking

Also, have they considered Teleworking? - Surely this will effect more people than yourself?
