I am looking to buy some new curtains for my sons bedroom. As its quite a cold room I want a heavy set of curtains to draw when the sun goes down.. however most I look at are 200euro plus..
any ideas where to buy a cheaply priced pair but keeping good standards?

If you run the search option in this forum you should find many previous threads on this type of subject.

Guineys, Arnotts, Harry Corry and others have been mentioned in the past.

I would suggest buying black out linings and an ordinary pair of curtains and stitching the linings onto the curtains, This is very successful.

I have bought black out linings on ebay at very reasonable cost.

I bought a pair from Harry Corry, they cost €50 and are perfect.

Top tip is to bring a small torch with you to see if they block out the light.

Home Store have 50% of all curtains this month - they have some really nice designs most are lined.

Hi Traceybere

I picked up curtains in Dunnes, with lining, for 35 euro a pair, people comment on how nice they are.

You may laugh sue ellen but it works! I'm a really light sleeper, and light curtains were making me nearly fall asleep in work!

I brought one of those magnalite's down to Harry Corry and used it at the back of the curtain, worked a treat!
