Health Insurance Health insurance renewal

My husband and I are coming up for renewal on our health insurance policy and wondering if we can do better on our cover. We currently have VHI Health Access. We are wading through a gazzillion policies trying to figure out whether we should switch or stay with what we have. My husband has cardiac and orthopaedic issues so we require full cover for both of these. We are in our late sixties and on pension so don't want to spend silly money but we must have comprehensive cover, preferably in private room and can't afford huge excess costs. I'd be very grateful if anyone has any advice please?
