Laya Health Insurance Renewal

It's that time of year again. Renewal due 1st June. I've had great advice the last couple of years from this forum so here goes this year

Currently on the following plans for the family - all LAYA
Husband and myself - Control 300 Create
19 yr old daughter - Connect Care 150
13 and 17 year old sons - Simply Connect Plus

Total renewal this year 3503.83

Any chance of getting this lower without too much change in cover?

Alternative options for 19yr old and 13 + 17 yr olds as follows;

19 yr old;
VHI are most competitive on price for young adults. VHI Plan PMI 43 16; price 448pa;

13 + 17 yr olds;
Laya healthcare have an offer on a few plans whereby you pay for 1 child and the rest of the children are free;
1. Flex 125 Explore; price 319pa; same hospital cover as before, limited day to day cover, savings achieved would cover many day to day exps.
2. Flex 125 Plus; price 388pa; same hospital cover as before, day to day cover included - first 50 not allowed per child.
3. Flex 125 Choice; price 505pa; same hospital cover as before, full day to day cover included - 1 euro excess.

2 Adults; Laya Control 300 Create price 1146pa would still be best value at that level of cover.
Lower priced plans would mean dropping hi-tech hospital cover(to include just Beacon hospital) and day to day cover.

Essential Health 300; price 873pa; all public, all private + Beacon hi-tech hospital covered, limited day to day cover.

Family price total would be 873 + 873 + 319 = 2065 + 3% charge 60 = 2125 + 448 = 2573


Based on the above options, total family price would be 1146 + 1146 + 319 = 2611 +3% charge 78 = 2689 + 448 = 3137pa.

There is always the option for one adult to choose Control 300 Create and the second adult to choose Essential Health 300 if it suits.
