HC tax relief for Stamp Duty and LA Development Charges?

Like many, i am totally against this charge. I paid over 25k already between Stamp Duty & Local Authority fees when we built our house (with part of those LA fees going towards providing amenities in our local area), so i feel like i am double paying for a service that doesn't even exist.

I paid over €90'000 in stamp duty when I bought my house. I don't see the connection though. It's like saying I've paid excise duty on a bottle of beer so I'm not paying the VAT.

OK on the stamp duty but do you think that where development levies have been paid by the house owner then he should get some partial relief from the property tax - a least for the first 10 years or so?
