Hi, I have a fixed rate mortgage with Haven that I'm looking to clear as I'm moving house.
In Sept 2022, I submitted the documents to request the 4 year fix but it took Haven 10 days to process and apply the rate to my account. Now when I request the break/redemption fee it is costing me an extra circa €1500 because of their 10 day delay in processing the initial fix. Has anyone any experience arguing that I shouldn't be penalised for their processing delay, and that the rate when I applied for the fix should be used in the break fee calculation? It was a very volatile 10 days in the wholesale rate markets! Any advice appreciated.
Thank you
