I bought an AH 6 years ago for 140K, over time both the value of the house and the estate has dropped.
We have made the decision that we can no longer afford to stay in the house, €700 rent/morgage.
I know if you hand keys back to bank that they will follow you gor the neg eq, I would assume that the council would be the same, my main question is as both myself and partner are not working, if we move to private renting would we be able to put our name onto the housing list in order to be able to claim rent allowence.
Any thoughts welcome
