Probably - If she had paid for 1 years membership in advance, I guess she would effectively be a 'creditor' to the gym so she could put in a claim to the liquidator or receiver. She might get back some percentage of what is owed.
However, I guess the membership fee is simply paid to get her in the door. She paid the fee and got in the door - so she got what she paid for.
