Guideline cost for transferring House Deeds

I have just inherited the 'family home'.Can anyone give me an estimate of the costs to transfer the house deeds from my fathers name through a solicitor.Are flat fees normally charged or do they base it on the market value of the property?

You should be quoted a flat fee although it would be a good
 
You should be quoted a flat fee although it would be a good idea to shop around and get a few quotes before proceeding. Solicitors are supposed to give a written estimate
