exactly - too many items are now put out at an outrageous price so that a "discount" seems better than it actually is.

Average weight of these "Large" eggs is 175g. Back in the day, that was a medium egg. So at €8, you are looking at over €35 a KG of basic quality mass produced chocolate.

To give a comparison - aldi's rather good (30% cocoa 0% palm oil) 200g bars of fruit & nut choc are about €2. (€10/kg) Or if its an easter treat, the Moser Roth Easter bunny 150g at 2.79 is as good as lindt's and no pretend discount. (18.60/kg)

I spotted this too late and had bought the Dunne's offer as I had discount vouchers going out of date, so "free" with a tenner off the groceries :)
 
I'm into my second round of 3 Easter eggs for €5.

These are just the token ones for a few of the younger ones. I need, and bought 6.

I have eaten 3.

I bought too early (again), but fear of having none come next Sunday is quite overwhelming.
There is something more irresistable about the little ones over the big Easter eggs. Is it the crates and crates of them on display? Like, they are never ending, but at the same time you know they will be horsed out of it this week.
