Grass dying in patches

I put down a lawn last year (the roll out type) and all was fine until lately where I've noticed it dying in patches - looks like it's scorched. I'm not sure if it's down to poor drainage although I did notice that during the Winter the lawn was holding a lot of water (very soggy under foot). Have tried watering & fertiliser but no use. Any advice would be great!!

(Have pictures of it but couldn't seem to put them up here for some reason.)

Sounds to me like you have a disease of the grass called Laetisaria fuciformis or Red thread to you and me. It especially affects rolled out turf. It is from a lack of nitrogen which can occur when the grass is water logged. A good feed of nitrogen rich fertiliser will help recover but dont put on high rates at the one time as you will have the same problem in a few weeks time again.

I you can put up those pictures I might be able to be positively identify it

Thanks a million...I'll give that a go and let you know how I get on.

I tried putting up the images but I don't think AAM supports it :(
