Government confirms delay of pension auto-enrolment

Saw an ad about it on the telly this evening.
I think six months out is the right balance between being too early and too late.

I think it’ll be more important to alert employers to this than employees as they are the ones who will have to make the deductions.

On what basis do you claim that this would be "much more likely"? Only the Minister of the time can know that.

Because I understand public policy formation a lot better than you do.

That's amazing. So we're talking hypothetically about an unknown administration, years in the future, reacting to a set of circumstances that are also unknown right now and you can predict how they're "likely" to react.

You also don't know me, nor I you, but apparently you can look into my mind and know what level of understanding I have of public policy formation.

Any chance of the 2027 Euro Millions Lotto numbers as well? :D

I brought up the issue of government raids on private pension funds at the public consultation on pensions a few years ago. I also highlighted it to candidates at the last general election.

I asked for government assurance that no further raids would take place.

In both cases I was ignored.

Precedence has been set over a 5 year period that the Irish government regards private pension funds as an emergency rainy day fund.

Anybody who refutes this are fooling themselves.
