Goldman Sachs are thinking about opening a retail bank here

If they're a bad as other American banks, then the 3 Irish legacy banks are going to be made to look pretty good.
 
Great news. Marcus/GS offer good rates in other markets.

But it seems far from certain that GS will choose to launch in Ireland.

"Retail bank" is a bit misleading. In other countries, Marcus/GS just offer savings accounts.
 
I didn't realise they only offered savings accounts. I thought they had full banking services. That's a pity.
