GMX...online email?

I was browsing throught the March edition of Focus magazine when I saw a substantial 3 page add for www.gmx.com This is an online, free email provider. You can also use your gmail, hotmail, yahoo email through it. It looks like it doesn't provide the ads of gmail and the convoluted way that gmail archives threads. Anyway, has anybody signed up for this? If so, what's the catch...how do they make money?

I've one for a while now. Not sure how they make money from it. It could be a sister project of something more bigger and profitable. Not sure. As it is still only beta it can be slow at times but it is good. One thing to remember it uses pop-ups to log in and out. These do not contain advertising it is just the way the login and out process was designed. Also it's been reported that it won't work on some portable devices (unlike gmail) not sure how true it is I haven't tried it yet.
