Getting tax relief backdated

Back in the country a few months after a number of years abroad.

I have an existing PRSA with Ark Life which I last contributed to back in 2006. I now want to make a contribution before the end of 2015 in order to get the tax relief in this year. I just rang Ark Life and they said that if I set up a direct debit payment now, it may not be through before the end of this year. They said however that I can make a once off payment which I can lodge directly to the PRSA before the end of the year and which will therefore take effect this year. So I am wondering how do I go about claiming the tax relief on this? Do I have to contact Revenue after the end of the year?

You have up until October of next year to make a contribution in respect of 2015 income.

When you get you p60 for 2015, you notify the revenue of your contribution and they will refund you the tax relief for the pension contribution.

Thanks for this. Do Revenue refund the tax relief directly to me or to the PRSA?
