Getting sunroof fitted on existing car

sunroof

Three questions ...

1 - are there any drawbacks to getting a sunroof fitted after the car has been bought? eg leaks, reliability etc

2 - can anyone recommend somewhere in Dublin except Nth and Nth-West Dublin (for convenience reasons) to get one fitted on a 2001 Zafira ("Elegance" model).

3 - what kind of price are we talking about?

Thanks!

Sunroof

Last time I put one (Electric) in a car was in 1998. Paid £750 At The Windscreen Hospital - probably not the cheapest price but no problems to date. Class A job - you would think it was factory fitted.

the factory-fitted sunroof retracts fully, while the retro-fitted sunroof only opens about half way. Also, the retro-fit makes more wind noise. Make sure you see one and drive a car witih one before ordering.

The Retrofit I refer to above also retracts fully. As for wind noise/fuel economy, thats always the problem with a sunroof. Can't say I've ever noticed any difference between a quality retrofit and a factory fit myself.
