Getting Short Term Mortgage

Hi all,

Is there any chance of getting a short term mortgage these days, with interest rates being relatively low would banks deem the mortgage not profitable enough?

I would be looking to get a mortgage over 7-10 years of 150k with around 25% of the house value in cash.

I look forward to any responses.

Cheers,

Allenk

Some years ago I took out a 20 year mortgage and with accelerated payments paid it back early. Why not do something similar? Ask for a standard 20 year term and then overpay. You might need to check that bank allows early redemption without penalty. I was with AIB but it is some time ago.

CAn anyone tell me how to start a new thread on this thing? I've looked all over and cannot find it. I'm new :) Thanks so much

Anyone have any information please.
Olympian posted some above.

You really need to shop around and ask lenders if you qualify for and they are willing to advance the loan in question. No easy answer as it really depends on your specific personal circumstances.

I have a permanent position for the past 20 months, currently on 43k tax free with no debts and regular savings.

I'll contact a lender but I was curious if anyone had any similar experience.

Cheers for your input.
