Getting rid of old stereo system

Hi,
Does anyone know of anywhere that would take an old stereo system from me? I could throw it out but thinking it might be useful to someone.

Sometimes DID and the like accept trade-ins on old kit and give you a few squid off. Worth checking out, particularly if you are in the market for some new gear.

It's like EBay but you don't charge for stuff - you give it away to avoid it being dumped. There's a Leinster area on the site.

Or how about giving it to a niece or nephew for his/her bedroom?

You'd be the favourite auntie!!!
 
SVdP or the Oxfam at home shop on Francis st. (Dublin) might take it if it still works. I think these guys might even collect it from you.
 
Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll try out freecycle as don't have any relatives or friends that want it.
 
My husband dropped an old stereo (perfectly working) to Oxfam or SVP few months ago - they do take them. Will check with him where exactly if you still ca't find a home for it:)
